Fandom Art: Doctor Who Block Painting

I am a big Doctor Who fan (and Star Trek, and well, you know sci-fi in general, lol), so you'll see some TV related art from me from time to time. I wanted to do a simple "graphic art" piece, but not so... galactic?

I re-purposed a canvas that I botched (lol, I just didn't like how it turned out). It had a grey gesso base, which was perfect for this project. I used artist professional tape to block out my image and a Tardis blue spray paint to evenly coat the background. It took several coats, but I'm very happy with how well it turned out.

Next, after everything dried, I removed the tape and added details in with a white paint pen.

This was super easy and makes a subtle statement that I can slip into my living room decor without standing out. I'm thinking of adding it to a book shelf or grouping with some decorative elements.

Creativity is Contagious!

Albert Einstein was known for his amazing analytical mind, but without passion and creativity he would have been crippled from expression. Not only did he give the world amazing insights to life around us, but he also continues to inspire through the literature and essays he left behind. Leave a legacy, share your creativity!

Origami Animals

Oh, how I would have loved this when I was younger! I found these kits at my local 99 Cents Only Store's toys section. I'm thinking a special kid will be the recipient or donate them to our local ministry so it will go to good use :)

I'm a firm believer in encouraging art early on. If you learn to "do" with your hands, your mind learns critical problem solving skills - And that is priceless!

Housework?

...and so does art for that matter!

lol.

A gentle reminder: it's important to fit your passion into the day even if it takes a silly justification to get there. :)

Love is in the air...

Valentine's Day is less than three weeks away. There are so many great art projects that are inspired by love, the joy of love, the ups and downs in love.... I thought I'd put some of it to canvas.

My friend got engaged last year and the two of them are so cute! So when she asked me to help with a guestbook idea, I was more than happy to jump in.

Fingerprint colleges are really on trend in the wedding world right now and there are a ton of perks to offering a guestbook this way. One, it displays beautifully in your home instead of tucked away in a closet. Two, your guests don't have to scramble to re-invent how to say "congratulations!" because the last ten guests wrote the same well wishes too. And three, it's a fun activity that keeps your friends and family engaged in your celebration.
